Before you send your master tape away for duplication, make sure that it's living up to its full potential. Mastering a project will maximize your recording investment.

Mastering usually includes the following procedures:
• maximize the volume (normalizing or compressing)
• perform any final EQ adjustments
• correct song sequence
• correct spaces between songs
• add digital black between songs
• feather fade outs/ins
• perform crossfades
• remove unwanted noise
• add correct PQ codes and ID numbers
• creates backup copy
• creates Red Book standard CD for duplication (required by pressers)
